The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) is upgrading its flagship ‘Khazanat Al Kutub’ initiative in the second quarter of this year, adding new titles and targeting readers in three emirates: Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Ajman.
The decision to enhance the initiative forms part of the Centre’s vision to reinforce the presence and use of the Arabic language and promote knowledge on a wider scale, in line with the UAE’s designation of 2026 as the ‘Year of Family’.
With these new stops on its itinerary, ‘Khazanat Al Kutub’ continues to draw a wide audience of reading enthusiasts through its carefully planned presence in diverse and high-traffic locations. This reflects the ALC’s strategy to make books and knowledge an integral part of the daily social landscape, while supporting the Arabic language and driving cultural and intellectual production at the national level.
In this year’s edition, the initiative presents the public with a large selection of new titles issued under the Centre’s publishing projects, which were launched to support the book industry and promote knowledge. In doing so, it strengthens the ALC’s institutional presence in vital locations and broadens the range of beneficiaries from the activities and programmes of the Community Campaign to Support Sustainable Reading. This campaign, now in its second cycle, was launched by the Centre in tandem with the ‘Year of Family’ initiative and aims to reach 100,000 beneficiaries, building on the success of the first cycle launched in 2025 during the ‘Year of Community’.
The ‘Khazanat Al Kutub’ initiative is designed to bring sources of culture and knowledge to all family members and the wider community by making books available in the places where people typically spend their time – particularly in shopping centres that attract highly diverse audiences. This, in turn, broadens the initiative’s impact as a reputable cultural platform that has successfully translated its vision into tangible reality, in line with Abu Dhabi’s aspirations and role as a regional centre for culture and knowledge.
The tour across the three emirates begins on 16 April 2026, as part of the ALC’s plan to advance its initiatives and reaffirm their continued ability to engage readers with a sustained presence in varied locations where it targets a wide audience with diverse interests.
For the second time, Lulu Mall Fujairah will host the initiative from 16 to 24 April, offering its visitors more than 230 titles across a wide range of knowledge categories. The displayed works form part of the ALC’s Kalima Project for Translation, the Esdarat project for Arabic publishing, and the Basaer (Insights) series of research papers and studies.
Manar Mall in Ras Al Khaimah will present these works from 16 to 30 April. The initiative is regularly hosted at this location to promote its publications and strengthen cooperation with the mall’s management and visitors.
‘Khazanat Al Kutub’ will conclude its round at CityLife Al Tallah Mall in Ajman, from 23 April to 10 May, also showcasing over 230 titles from the three flagship ALC projects, with an aim to promote the Centre’s publications to mall visitors and ensure continuous engagement with readers.
The collection showcased under the initiative includes books from a wide range of disciplines, such as literature, heritage, thought, history, and philosophy, and features dedicated books for children and young adults that help foster a love of reading.
The ‘Khazanat Al Kutub’ initiative aims to strengthen collaboration with management and visitors across the shopping centres that host its displays, in a bid to promote the latest publications issued by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre. The campaign has recorded a steadily growing presence marked by strong turnout from readers and audiences drawn to diverse cultural content. This clearly confirms the initiative success in translating its cultural vision into a tangible reality that reinforces Abu Dhabi’s leading position on the cultural map.
