The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) has announced that the application period for the third edition of its ‘Arabic Pals’ competition has been extended to 28 October 2023, welcoming submissions from all Arabic-speaking and non-Arabic speaking school students.
The competition aims to promote the use of the Arabic language in all aspects of young people’s daily lives, as well as to discover, celebrate, and honour creative talents.
Students wishing to participate can submit short videos in Arabic under three categories: Reciting verses of Arabic poetry in proper Arabic for both native and non-native speakers; telling the UAE’s story or highlighting the achievements of its Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan; and for non-Arabic students, highlighting a special experience while learning the language.
The competition is open to all students aged between 8 and 16 years old. The applicant’s guardian must fill in the application form in person and bears the responsibility for the accuracy of the information provided. Incomplete applications will not be considered, and all materials submitted will become the property of ALC.
The ‘Arabic Pals’ competition will award three finalists a prize of AED 10,000 each.
The ALC is receiving requests for participation via its official website. Applications can be submitted via email to arabicpals@dctabudhabi.ae along with the consent form of the parents, the student ID, and the entry videos. More details can be found on the official website of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre.
