Dr. Abdelddayem Salami: Assistant Professor at Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Humanities, specializing in narratology and modern criticism.
The workshop was held at the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre from February 15 to May 10, 2025. It covered the history of the short story, types, most prominent writers, the differences between the short story and the novel, and deferent approaches to criticism.

The elements of the short story—time, setting, events, and characters— were explained as well as the components of narrative discourse: narration, the narrator, point of view, description, and dialogue.

The workshop included reading and analysis of selected stories, and concluded with planning for writing a short story, along with an overview of editing methods, revision, and final refinement.
