About the Workshop

The workshop was held from March 18 to September 1, 2023, at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi. It combined both theoretical and practical components in 10 in-person sessions, covering several topics, such as; the structure of the novel and its key elements, the concept of storytelling and how to master it, methods of character development, time and space, the construction of typographic space, the social dimension of language and the use of various symbols within it, narrative rhythm, and the driving forces and constraints of narrative style.
