The Al Ain Book Festival 2023 Celebrates International Children's Day

The Al Ain Book Festival 2023, coordinated by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, celebrates the International Children's Day on the 2nd day of the festival. November 20 marks the anniversary of the UN General Assembly adopting the Declaration of the Rights of the Child.

Educational and entertaining activities abound at the festival for children and youth, including artistic workshops and group marches, specialised sessions, and touring musical and artistic performances throughout the day.

Commencing at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain Square, the International Children's Day celebrations feature schoolchildren participating in sport exercises and taking a tour of the festival grounds. Subsequently, a variety of performances and activities take place.

As part of the "We Read for Children" initiative, the festival will showcase an engaging session titled "The Story of Layla and the Many Forgotten Things", in addition to a lecture on “the Importance of Good Nutrition for Children's Health”.

Children will also have the opportunity to manifest their imaginative capacities through a diverse array of artistic endeavours over the day, including free-hand drawing, vibrant hand printing, foam colouring, an art wall, a Mandela wall, a mosaic wall, and a cooking skills workshop.

In addition to voiceover, interactive chemical experiments, space science exploration, and souvenir photo opportunities, youth will be able to participate in areas designated for fascinating physics experiments and engage in interactive activities. Furthermore, these exhibits feature captivating scientific demonstrations and uncommon phenomena that arouse curiosity.

The day's activities will also include shows of animation characters that children adore, dinosaur shows, and numerous other roaming entertainment events.
