The "Alpha" Corner at Al Dhafra Book Festival 2024, organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) from 9 to 15 December at the Madinat Zayed Public Park in Al Dhafra, presents interactive workshops that allow children to develop new drawing and colouring skills in a fun and engaging atmosphere.
The activities on the agenda at the Corner are designed to spark children’s creativity, create memories, and strengthen Gen Alpha’s connection with their Arabic language, Emirati heritage, and their homeland.
The workshops include activities such as drawing using Arabic calligraphy and creating artworks that embody Emirati heritage. They aim to develop children’s talents and abilities, in line with the ALC’s vision to foster a sense of belonging to the UAE and promote the country’s cultural, literary, and artistic legacy.
Al Dhafra Book Festival is deeply tied to the unique character of Al Dhafra region and strives to strengthen the bond with authentic local Emirati traditions.
The "Alpha" Corner welcomes large crowds of children daily, offering them a variety of arts workshops, covering drawing and colouring on hats and bags, decoupage, jesmonite crafting, doll making, assembling wooden sculptures, pottery painting, Arabic calligraphy, and more. These activities provide children with opportunities to enhance their artistic skills and express themselves creatively.
The workshops are led by art experts who guide children and teach them proper drawing and colouring techniques, while volunteers provide support and help ensure that all participants have an optimal and enriching experience.
The "Alpha" Corner at Al Dhafra Book Festival 2024 hosts 11 art workshops every day for children aged 2 to 15 years, organised by age groups, and designed to accommodate approximately 180 children daily.
