Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025 Launches 3rd Edition of Its "Podcast from Abu Dhabi" Programme

The third edition of the Podcast from Abu Dhabi programme, an initiative by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), will be held as part of the 34th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF 2025) and will feature more than 50 of the world’s top podcasters to present over 50 different topics.

 

Promoting a culture of dialogue and knowledge in an innovative and inspiring way, Podcasts from Abu Dhabi at ADIBF, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and runs from 26 April to 5 May, will host some of the world's most popular podcast creators with more than 16 million followers, while also making room for new voices with 21 content creators making their debut at the show.

 

The programme supports the theme selected for the 34th edition of the Fair, "Knowledge Illuminates Our Community", by offering content that enriches intellectual discourse, helps build a sustainable cultural environment, and allows audiences to engage directly with creators and hear their inspiring stories. The programme's thoughtful discussions, and wide range of voices and experiences included, highlight the diversity and creativity of the Arab cultural landscape, building on the success and popularity of the programme’s first two seasons.

 

Podcast from Abu Dhabi cover a wide range of topics, including literature, poetry, art, technology, youth, society, children, social development, games, and entertainment, among many others. The topics cater to the audience’s passion for knowledge, offering a platform for constructive cultural debate. Each episode spotlights a different experience that combines education and entertainment.

 

The programme strives to encourage creative individuals, offering them a unique opportunity to showcase their talents to a broader audience, adding value to their participation by increasing their number of followers and popularity, building on the programme’s good reputation, popularity, and the credibility of its meaningful and original content.

 

Podcast from Abu Dhabi blends heritage and modernity, creating a space for intellectual and artistic conversation, which enhances the role of podcasts as a cultural platform that helps to promote knowledge and build an engaged, intellectually driven society.

 

This year’s notable participants include podcasters "Mics" from Saudi Arabia and "El Podcasters" from Egypt, alongside platforms such as "Edraak" and "Samawah", and other podcasts including "Paper Samwich" and "The Arab Youth Podcast", among others.

 

Podcasts remain hugely popular among listeners. Together, the creators participating in the Podcast from Abu Dhabi programme have 7.5 million followers on TikTok, 4.2 million on YouTube, and 4.5 million on Instagram. This remarkable visibility establishes podcasts as a true digital revolution and an inspiring media platform for engaging with the public through audio content that has impressive digital features and meets the needs of new generations.

 

Podcast from Abu Dhabi is a key component of the Cultural Programme of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which has cemented its status as a prominent cultural event in the region through its efforts to promote cultural dialogue, enrich the literary and media landscapes, and continue its journey to be a new window for cultural dialogue and a bridge between creators and their audience.
