The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) honoured participants in the Dialogue Management and Writing Workshop at a special ceremony held at Qasr Al Muwaiji in Al Ain, as part of the recently concluded Al Ain Book Festival 2025.
His Excellency Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the ALC, said: “The Dialogue Management and Writing Workshop was launched as part of our efforts at the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre to strengthen and empower the Arabic language. It complements our distinguished range of initiatives and training courses designed to encourage members of the community to engage more deeply in reading, exploration, dialogue, purposeful discussion, and sustainable knowledge. These are essential tools for enriching cultural identity and embodying the principles of social cohesion.”
“We were delighted by the remarkable interest shown in the programme and the participants’ eagerness to acquire new skills that add both practical and intellectual value to their professional lives,” His Excellency added. “The participants completed all stages of the programme with notable proficiency, demonstrating their talents in drafting texts and managing dialogue sessions with structure, coherence, and clarity. Their skills were evident in organising sessions, managing time effectively, allocating roles, sequencing discussions, posing stimulating questions, practising active listening, engaging audiences, and presenting ideas with confidence and persuasiveness.”
“Today, we honour these outstanding participants following extensive evaluation by professional experts,” H.E. Al Tunaiji explained. “They truly deserve to be celebrated in this distinguished venue, where the echoes of our forefathers’ dialogues still resonate, reminding us that the spoken word is a cornerstone of Emirati culture, which was built upon constructive dialogue and openness to diverse perspectives that serve the greater good of humanity.”
The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre organised the Dialogue Management and Writing Workshop in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Youth Council. The initiative sought to hone the youth’s skills in writing dialogues and managing cultural and public discussions, targeting individuals eager to develop their talents in that regard, present ideas clearly and correctly, and acquire essential skills for productive exchange.
Participants studied the fundamentals of dialogue, along with advanced techniques for formulating appropriate questions, communicating key messages, and mastering the elements of public speaking. They also engaged in real-time interactions and were trained to use planning and analysis tools to refine their public speaking skills, communication techniques, and quick-response. They also learnt how to interact with guests and audiences in a professional and balanced manner.
