Al-Markaz: Majallat al-Dirāsāt al-ʿArabiyya [The Centre: Journal of Arabic Studies] is an open-access peer-reviewed academic journal issued by the Arabic Language Centre. It focuses on Arabic language, literature and culture studies, examining a range of historical and analytical trends. The journal covers a chronological period that extends from before Islam to the present day. The journal welcomes submissions with an interdisciplinary and comparative approach and offers a forum for matters of formal language and spoken dialects, written and oral heritage as well as poetry and prose.

The first issue of the journal was published in January 2022 and was devoted to the topic “Traces of Time: The Concept of Signs in the Arab Literary Discourse”, which examined the concept of 'Signs' which have been enriching Arabic and Islamic texts since ancient times. The research theme of the journal's second issue in June 2022, was "Hope in Arabic Literature".
